Professor (Dr.) Pabitra Sarkar

Pabitra Sarkar, a person with various interests and identities: those of a linguist, literary critic, actor and theatre person, writer for children, man associated with various aspects of performed culture, grammarian, and also, in a very humble way, a singer of Rabindra Sangeet.
In 1990, he became the Vice Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University, position held till 1997, after which he was the Vice-Chairman, West Bengal State Council for Higher Education.
From 1969 to 1975 he was in the United States on a Fulbright Scholarship, which enabled he to do an M.A. and Ph. D. in linguistics at the University of Chicago (1975). he also taught at the University of Minnesota for two years, from 1973-1975.

Dr. Jaishree Umale

Dr. Jaishree Umale is a retired professor of English. She started her career as a lecturer at Vidarbha Buniyadi Junior college, Nagpur and later served at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering Wanadongri, Nagpur. She was also associated with the Department of Linguistics, Foreign and Indian Languages, Nagpur University, Nagpur as a contributory lecturer of English. Soon she moved to the Middle East in 1997 and served at Salalah College of Technology, Dhofar University and Sur University in Oman. She later returned to India and served in Amity University, Gurgaon.
A keen researcher, she has presented many papers at National and International Conferences in India, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia and Sharjah. She has also published papers in International Journals.
